Hi Jozef,

SAS XPORT format includes metadata, while DATASEt-XML does not. You need to populate all missing metadata info manually.

Kind Regards,

It seems indeed strange wanting to create a Define-XML from Dataset-XML files. The process should be to create Dataset-XML files from source data **using** a Define-XML file, or another metadata source.

I tried to generate a define.xml from a set of Dataset-XML files, but the result is define.xml that just contains empty GlobalVariable child elements and an empty MetaDataVersion element.

When using xpt files, it works fine (although I would love it when the tool also generates the CodeLists which does not seem the case, although I provide a config version of the SDTM).

Can you confirm that this feature does not work yet with Dataset-XML files, or am I doing something wrong?

Best regards,

Jozef
