export to Word plot quality issue in Phoenix 6.3

I have tried to export simple overlay plots from Phoenix 6.3 to Word and the quality of the export is much worse as compared to the identical plots exported previously from Phoenix 6.2. I’m hoping there are some suggestions to improve the quality of the plots. The biggest issue is printing these plots after export in Word. The lines connecting the datapoints are impossible to discern between dotted and dashed lines and appear much fatter than the solid line. I have always exported as Metafiles since the bitmap exports have always been a bit blurry. Exporting as bitmap now is somewhat better, but the quality is nowhere near what it was for the metafile exports in 6.2. Any suggestions?

Hi Inger, I just wanted to check if the solution provided by Pharsight Support (Case #146954), to install the Office 2007 Primary Interoperability Assembly as a fix? Simon.

I sent a reply email indicating: “Our admin staff double-clicked on the file named “o2007pia.msi” and it appeared that the file was extracted, however, no prompts appeared for us to follow. We have since rebooted and run Phoenix 6.3 with the same poor quality of the plot exports to Word.” So the answer is that the fix didn’t work, the file did not give any prompts to follow. Thanks

Hi Inger, As you may have been told we’re not aware of any reason for a decrease in the quality of Word Export between Phoenix 1.2 and 1.3. If anything, 1.3 should be better, as there were several bug fixes, so please continue to seek a resolution via Support. If anyone else has experienced this (or found a solution) please email support@pharsight.com so we can get a more complete picture of possible combinations of configurations that may be the source of the problem.
