Running the validator against just the define.xml

Hi,

We’re running into this same problem. Does anyone know of the solution?

Thanks,

Mark

Hi Mark,

It could be due to incorrect usage of XML special characters in the metadata. Try to open the file in XML Spy or other advanced XML editor.

You can email your defne.xml to me for more detailed diagnostics.

Hi Sergiy, We were able to workaround this issue by mapping the UNC path to a drive. Perhaps there is an issue with the application when dealing with the double backslash (\). Thanks, Mark

Hello –

We have always run the OpenCDISC validator (v1.3 and v1.4) against the datasets and the define.xml with no problem; however, when we run the validator against just the define.xml, we receive an error ‘OD0001’ that ‘XML is not well-formed: \filepath\folder\subfolder\OpenCDISC_validator\opencdisc-validator v1.3\config\data\Define Metadata 1.0.xml (The system cannot find the path specified).’ This file does exist in our \config\data folder, and the only thing we can think of is that it should be looking for ‘\filepath\folder…’ rather than ‘\filepath\folder…’. Is this what the problem is, and if so, how can we fix it?

thanks so much for any help,

Joy
