A few remarks:

  • P21 Community NDF-RT seems to be pretty outdated (latest implemented version seems to be 2018-02-05).
  • I could however find “N0000029636” in NDF-RT lists already published 5 years ago (see e.g. VistALegacyAnalytics/data/rxnorm/rxnorm-vadc-only.RRF at master · VHAINNOVATIONS/VistALegacyAnalytics · GitHub)
  • P21 does not seem to support Med-RT yet, next promise seems to be for version 3.1 (we are currently at 3.0.2), see MED-RT versus NDF-RT | Pinnacle 21
  • Everybody is currently struggling with this transition, the extremely useful RESTful web services for NDF-RT have been retired, and none for Med-RT has been installed yet (maybe I will do it myself when I have time)
  • RESTful web services are the best way to ensure that always the latest version of a terminology is used. As far as I know, P21 Community does not use RESTful web services.

The best at the moment is to document in the Reviewers Guide that the NDF-RT codes that you submitted are valid NDF-RT codes (but of course carefully check) and that the validator did not recognize them as valid NDF-RT codes.

Valid term which represents NDF-RT code 'N0000170916’ is ‘Vaccines, Inactivated’ rather than ‘Vaccines, Inactivated [Chemical/Ingredient]’

You should have TSVAL=‘Vaccines, Inactivated’

We tried the same and it works. Maybe in the error message returned from P21, should the hint be added to remove text in from NDF-RT code? I know lots of this error happened and user spent lots of time may or maynot figure it out…
