Hi all,
I have a question about the dose for clearance calculation.
The study drug is a potassium salt of A (100 mg). Among 100 mg, there is 45 mg of A. When I set up the dosing for NCA, do I input 100 mg or 45 mg?
Thanks!

Hi LLLi,
I prefer to use salt-free quality, 45mg.
Want to completely avoid ambiguity, the use of Moore unit is a good choice!

Hi LLLi,
you should use the same which was used in bioanalytics. In most cases concentrations are reported in [mass of active]/[volume] where the active is the ”core molecule” (base, or in your case an acid) – not the salt.
I once reviewed a couple of papers on a certain drug (API = hydrochloride) where in some of the publications concentrations were ~â…“ higher than in the others. Obviously that was the result of ignoring stoichiometry. Incidentally all of those papers were sponsored by the innovator company – did these guys want to make their product “look better”?
Please enlighten me: What is a “Moore unit”?
