I’ve started using Phoenix 7 and I’ve got a recurring bug. Phoenix intermittently crashes when I try to open, save or import data or project files. Has anyone else seen this?

John, are these files created in v7 or imported from v6.4?
More specifically is it possible that you have used a column called ‘Dose’ as a sort key in an NCA object. This was never recommended practice and sometimes caused issues in earlier versions in the NCA. Version 7 now tries to warn the user not to do this but sometimes it causes issues like you’ve experienced. Simply renaming the column to e.g. DoseGroup should respolve the problem, see below.
QC 16362 Loading a project with a NCA object that uses column named ‘Dose’ as a Sort variable causes an exception in Phoenix 7.0, if the project was created using Phoenix 1.4 or earlier. The workaround is to, in Phoenix 1.4, sort on variables other than ‘Dose’ or to rename the ‘Dose’ column, and then reload the project into Phoenix 7.0.
This was communicated in the Product Notification PHX-034 along with a few other issues that users should note. These can be found on the downloads page by expanding ‘Show details’.
It this isn’t what you are seeing then is sounds like a bug you should email into Support with an example project and any background that will be helpful.

Thanks for the quick reply. It’s crashing when navigating directories, so I don’t get to select the file. I would be importing excel data, and once the files are imported and are in use, the software has been stable.
The files are in a box-sync directory. Could that be the problem?

John - I think you should provide an example Excel and describe your location issues with Support and see if they have some suggestions.

Ok, but I don’t think this is an issue with particular file types. It’s an issue with navigating folders. It tends to crash before I select a file. I’ll raise a support ticket.
