Hi Sean,

You won’t be able to run the datasets like that and get the full range of checks expected for those particular domains. I’ll see if I can recreate your error later though, as the Validator should be able to determine what general class of data your files represent (as long as they include key variables).

However, it does use the SDTM filename-to-domain-name convention to perform a one-to-one lookup against the list of validation routines, which is why you won’t be able to run the validation like that. This isn’t really a limitation of the Validator’s engine, but more so a restriction of the user interface. As we continue to develop the Validator, we like to keep in mind what tasks people need to accomplish, so we’d like to know, is this something that you’d want to do often/is it important for you to be able to validate similar datasets in this way?

Thanks for your response. The reason that we create multiple files for a given domain is based on system limitations as we create the .xpt files. Let me see if we can concatenate these datasets - if so, that is probably the more appropriate fix.

I’m pretty sure we can handle this in our process. Let me explore a solution in creating the xpt files before you spend any time working this.

(I’m thinking this is an easy one…)

LB1,LB2,LB3 and LB4 are LB datasets; PE1-PE5 are PE. I get a ‘Configuration Unavailable’ error when I attempt to validate together.

Can I validate in the same run? If so, how may I do that?
