I’ve experienced that Phoenix slows considerably down with a growing number of workflow items. Even renaming of a workflow item gets slow, can take 10-20 seconds or more. Do others experience the same, what could be the reason or a remedy, has this been logged as an issue?
Thank you for reporting this. The renaming performance has been fixed for the next version of Phoenix WinNonlin 6.2. Other improvements to performance has also been made but it is difficult to comment on your situation without having details. Ana Henry Pharsight
I see these comments are about a year and a half old, so I’m a little late to this game, but for what it’s worth… Yes, I see this degradation in performance too (in 6.1 at least). Once you hit about 40 workflow operations, it starts to become unusable, since saving it can take a minute or more, and even switching between components can take 10 seconds. Ana: Just build a workflow with 3-4 imported datasets, make some plots, do some transformations on the worksheets, maybe fit a couple of Phoenix models, you’ll see what we’re talking about. I’m hoping to upgrade to 6.2 shortly, will report back. -Frank
Just a quick comment, 6.3, released March 2012, also included some general memory enhancements and a specific tool “Data Wizard” that wraps; Filter Column Transformation & Column Properties into one object from which you can choose to retain only the final sheets - therefore reducing memory used significantly where you are performing a series of manipulations on a single large worksheet. Thanks Simon, I’ll have to download PHX1.3 and check out those new features. -Frank
